At Icon we are committed to protecting your privacy. When you interact with us by phone, mail, in person or online, we sometimes receive personal information about you. This document tells you about how we collect, use and store your personal information.

How do we collect information about you?

We may collect information about you whenever you interact with us. For example, when you contact us, donate to us, ask about our activities, sign up to take part in a creative project or production, answer an survey, or otherwise give us any other personal information.

Who is collecting the information?

When you are on the Icon website and are asked for personal information by us you are sharing that information with the Icon Theatre team alone. Unless it is specifically stated otherwise – we will not pass your name or email address to third parties, including organisations and companies that are partnering with or supporting us. Sometimes, we annoynimise the data we collect in surveys for processing and share this with a small amount of funders such as Arts Council England who require this as part of our funding agreements with them. You will never be identifiable from this data we share.

What information do we collect and how do we use it?

Icon Theatre collects information in a variety of ways. Some information is gathered when you ask a question, make a donation, subscribe to our newsletter or book a ticket.

If you ask a question, we will store you’re the communications information provided e.g. the telephone or email address and use it in answering your question.

If you make a donation (thank you!) we will collect the necessary information to process the donation and not use this data for any further purposes unless otherwise agreed.

We will regularly email people who opted in to receive our newsletter from us, so that we can let you know about what’s coming up at Icon Theatre, about our shows, opportunities and occasionally special offers. if you do not wish to receive future mailings, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link included on all communications. Icon Theatre may also occasionally ask users to complete surveys for research purposes. When/if you contact Icon Theatre, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

You can use our website anonymously without giving us any information and we won’t know who you are.

(c) whether you are new to the site, or have visited it before

On the website generally

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website so we can make it more effective. Google Analytics collects anonymous information about what people do on our website, where they’ve come from, and whether they’ve completed any tasks on the site, for example, signing up to volunteer or donating. Google Analytics tracks this information using cookies and JavaScript code.

With whom do we share this information?

As a general rule, we will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. Icon Theatre will protect confidentiality and security of that information, and not allow third parties to use that information other than in connection with the provisions compatible with Icon Theatre.

Icon Theatre may preserve Content and may disclose Content to any third party if required to do so by law or in good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is necessary to:
